ABOUT TICAD

TICAD stands for Tokyo International Conference on African Development. It is a summit-level international conference on African development initiated by Japan in 1993. The conference is co-hosted by the Government of Japan, the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank, and the African Union Commission (AUC). The main objective of TICAD is to promote high-level policy dialogue between African leaders and development partners.

The conference focuses on key issues such as economic growth, trade, sustainable development, human security, and the promotion of peace and stability across Africa. Held every three years, TICAD provides a consistent and valuable platform for dialogue and cooperation.
